What Happens at Your First Visit
We want you to feel completely prepared walking through our door. Here's how a typical new patient appointment goes at Mast Dental:
Warm Welcome
You'll be greeted by our front desk team, checked in, and settled in comfortably — no cold, clinical waiting room vibes here.
Comprehensive Exam
Dr. Mast will perform a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, bite, and oral tissues. This includes a review of your dental and medical history so we can understand the full picture of your health.
X-Rays (If Needed)
Depending on your history and when your last X-rays were taken, we may take digital X-rays to give Dr. Mast a complete view of what's happening below the surface.
Honest Conversation
Dr. Mast will walk you through exactly what he finds — in plain language, without pressure. If treatment is recommended, he'll explain your options, the timeline, and all associated costs before anything is scheduled.
Cleaning (When Scheduled)
If a cleaning is part of your appointment, our hygiene team will take care of you thoroughly and gently.
Your Personalized Care Plan
Before you leave, you'll have a clear picture of your current oral health and a plan that's built around your specific needs and goals.
Insurance & Financing
Quality dental care should be accessible and we work hard to make sure cost is never a barrier to getting the treatment you need. We accept most major dental insurance plans, including Delta Dental (Premier), BlueCross BlueShield of NC, MetLife, United Healthcare, and Ameritas. We will file your claims on your behalf once treatment begins, and our team is happy to review your coverage with you before your appointment so you know exactly what to expect.
We also accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and CareCredit for patients who prefer to spread payments over time.
Please note: We do not accept Medicaid.
